Sometimes it feels like application processes aren\u2019t designed with actual people in mind. By the time you\u2019ve reached the end, you\u2019ve lost count of how many times you\u2019ve answered the same questions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At Intercom, we\u2019re on a mission to make internet business personal \u2013 so why wouldn\u2019t we make our application process just as personal? We\u2019re looking to hire talented, passionate people with real personalities, and we think a lot about how we do that.<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve put together a few tips so you can show us who you are and what you\u2019re about in the best possible way.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re nervous, do it anyway<\/b><\/h2>\n

Everybody doubts themselves from time to time, but we\u2019d hate to see that stop you from applying to come work with us. We know that <\/span>imposter syndrome<\/span><\/a> and the <\/span>confidence gap<\/span><\/a> can get in the way of meeting truly incredible applicants \u2013 so if you don\u2019t think you\u2019re meeting enough of the job requirements, apply anyway! We read every application carefully, so if we think you can add something special to our team, we\u2019ll get in touch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One application is enough<\/b><\/h2>\n

We really do review <\/span>every<\/span><\/i> application, and we won\u2019t let yours get lost or slip through the cracks. One application is always enough \u2013 applying for a role multiple times won\u2019t increase your chances of securing an interview.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We like to know that you\u2019re passionate about the role you\u2019re applying for, so make sure you\u2019re choosing the perfect role for you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Brief is best<\/b><\/h2>\n

Your resum\u00e9 or CV should be long enough to show off your experience, but don’t feel like you need to tell us everything at this stage. We just want to get an idea of whether you might be a fit for the role and for Intercom \u2013 we can discuss the rest in your interview. We\u2019d recommend aiming for two pages, or a maximum of three.<\/span><\/p>\n

Show us your impact<\/b><\/h2>\n

We read every application with the belief that this could be the one \u2013 all you have to do is convince us we\u2019re right. At Intercom, we make everyday count \u2013 use your CV to highlight your proudest achievements, the times you\u2019ve made a difference, and how things improved because of your work. Achievement metrics are great to see, but mostly we want to understand how you approached problems, found solutions, and achieved results.<\/span><\/p>\n

Understand what the position involves<\/b><\/h2>\n

What does the day-to-day look like for this role? Will you have to relocate? Is Intercom the right place for you at this moment in your career? You can ask all of these questions as you move through the process \u2013 we want you to feel as excited about the role as we are, so we\u2019re more than happy to chat through any concerns or queries you have.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, be patient with us<\/h2>\n

We get a lot of applications and we want to give enough time to each one, which can take some time. We\u2019ll be sure to update you as soon as we\u2019ve reviewed yours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
