It’s easy to set your Messenger home’s default language in your Messenger > General settings > Choose supported languages.
You can choose from up to 45 languages, including: Arabic, Bengali, Bosnian, Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, German (Formal), Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latviski, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Simplified Chinese, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and Англи хэл (Mongolian).
This will change the language of your Messenger interface. For example, your ‘New Conversation’ button, team intro, greeting and ‘Powered by Intercom’ button will appear in the language you’ve chosen.
You can also select other languages to allow. For example, if your default language is English, you can allow the Messenger to appear in French to your French users, in German to your Germans users and so on.
How localization works with your Article search card
If you don't support your customer's language, the default language of your help center will be shown. However, if you've localized your Messenger and your Articles, help content will be shown to match your user's browser language.
How localization works with Messenger apps
At the moment, most Messenger apps are only supported in English.
